Having been inspired by a workshop we were running at the BMA, the Training Co-ordinator for Staff and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells hospitals invited us to run a session for them.

We tried to ensure that the session was appropriate to the particular needs of SAS doctors, who work in a range of medical specialties and are from a variety of international backgrounds.

‘All the feedback was very good, and many doctors mentioned how relaxed and comfortable they felt with you. There was a real buzz around the centre on Monday, and it was very exciting for me to see the enthusiasm of the group, and their developing interaction with you, and each other as the day progressed. Thank you.’

We have now run a series of professional development workshops for them. These have included sessions on:

Communicating and Influencing
Essential Management Skills
Time Management
Effective Writing

In addition, we have provided one-to-one career coaching sessions for a number of the doctors, helping them to develop more focused career goals and generate greater belief in their ability to achieve those goals.
