C2 has considerable experience working with councils and other government bodies to provide career development services.

We have worked within several councils in London to provide career and professional development services. We have also provided outplacement support for research staff at government organisations undergoing restructuring and redundancies.

The range of services we provide includes workshops on career development areas such as:

  • Ways to boost your career prospects and employability
  • Effective job hunting
  • Professional networking (including use of social media)
  • Successful applications and interviews

In addition we provide personal development training for staff in areas such as:

  • Handling conflict and assertiveness
  • Basic management skills
  • Managing change
  • Effective mentoring

C2 has been used to provide career transition support services for staff during a period of change. This has included:

  • Redundancy support for staff
  • Outplacement support programmes for managers
  • Talent management and retention

We can also provide one-to-one coaching for research staff on a range of career issues.

 
In addition to more standard components of Careers workshops, C2 also identified other workshops that would make their PhD students even more effective.
